When a vote will not go through
Voting is deliberately hard to automate, and the same defences occasionally catch someone voting honestly. Every refusal has its own message. Here is what each one means.
You have already voted today
Your free vote is gone until midnight UTC. Nothing is wrong.
The day is counted on your wallet address and on your browser, so this message also appears when you connect a second wallet in the same browser after voting with the first. That is intended: it is one vote per person per day, not one per wallet you happen to own.
Too many votes from your network today
Only a few votes are accepted from the same internet connection each day. A household, an office or a student residence where several people vote will hit this even though every one of those votes is honest.
The people who already voted from that connection are fine. Everyone else has to wait for tomorrow, or vote from a different connection, such as a phone on mobile data rather than on the same wifi.
Voting is not available over a VPN
Connections that look like a VPN, a proxy or a datacenter are refused, because that is how one person pretends to be a thousand.
Turn the VPN off, reload the page and vote again. If you are not using one and still see this, your internet provider may be routing you through a range that looks like hosting. Trying from mobile data is the quickest way to find out.
We could not verify your signature
The message you signed did not match the vote being cast. In practice this is almost always one of two things.
The date rolled over while the page was open. The message carries today's UTC date, so a page left open across midnight signs yesterday's text. Reload and vote again.
You switched accounts in your wallet after the page loaded. Reload so the site picks up the address you are actually signing with.
Captcha verification failed
The quiet check that you are a person did not complete. Reload the page and try once more. An ad blocker or a privacy extension blocking scripts is the usual cause, along with a connection that dropped at the wrong moment.
This project is not available for voting
The project is not on the leaderboard. Either it has not been reviewed yet, or its entry was not approved. Submitted projects are not visible until a person has looked at them, as described in Submit your project.
Signing was cancelled
You dismissed the signature window in your wallet. Nothing was sent and nothing was used up. Press Vote again whenever you are ready.
Something went wrong
The catch-all. Reload the page and try again. If it keeps happening, the community channels in the footer are the fastest way to find out whether it is just you.
The button says Connect wallet to vote
You are reading while disconnected. Press Connect Wallet at the top of the site.
A reminder about safety
Voting asks you to sign a short text and nothing else. It never needs a transaction, a fee, an approval or any coins in your wallet.
If anything anywhere asks for your seed phrase, your private key, a payment or a token approval in order to vote, it is not this site and it is not honest. Close it.
Still not working
